A Dangerous Duet (english)

 

There is an illustration about Sarah and Christina, two characters from my novel. I will take advantage of this article to tell you more about them and their relationship.

Christina is a prostitute living in the low districts of London. She had been sold to a brothel when she was eleven, because of a lack of money to feed her, and this is where she had been to past the majority of her life.

Her dream is to be able to buy a house in the countryside and to cultivate a kitchen garden, far away from the town.

She has a son named Vincent, who she had very young and she had almost died in childbirth.

This is a character without any scrupules, because she thinks that life didn't gave her any gift and considers every occasion as good to take. She is particulary selfish (except concerning her son Vincent, who is the only person in the world she cares about), greedy, venal and provocative. It is also someone cunning, resourceful, who moves back in front of nothing and who is afraid of nothing (sometimes at a dangerous point), what can make her fascinating as very destructive.

Christina will met Sarah when this last one is at London. Sarah will transform her so that she is of use to her as cover with regard to her "hunts", in any case the local authorities would become too curious. The young woman disguises by putting a black wig and by wearing a dark coat, what makes her rather similar to Christina physically.

 At the beginning, their relationship is rather based on utility, because they are using each others. Sarah for the reasons above, Christina because she thinks that Sarah could be of use to her as springboard socially and also as a protector for her and her son, Vincent. Christina also takes advantage of powers which offers her her transformation. This one knows that she is instrumented, but she can benefit from it, and given that she lived as a slave throughout her life, the fact that Sarah uses her does not disturb her, because she finds her account there.

But their relation goes farther than that. Indeed, after her transformation, Christina shares the same blood as Sarah and it thus creates a kind of "family" link that we could compare closer to mother/ daughter. Christina considers her transformation as a rebirth.
After, having the same age and being physically alike, their link can also seems like one between two sisters.
Be that as it may, both young women fastens each others in spite of them, and it in a powerful way, because sometimes they are able to feel the feelings of the other, even in spite of a long distance.

To finish, Christina will be a decisive ally of Sarah, and vice versa. She will also be at the origin of events mattering a lot during my story.

Un Duo Dangereux (français)

Voici une illustration de Sarah et Christina, deux personnages de mon histoire. Je vais en profiter pour vous parler un peu plus d'elles et de leur relation.


 Christina est une prostituée vivant dans les bas quartiers de Londres. Elle fut vendue à un bordel à l'âge de onze ans, faute d'argent pour pouvoir la nourrir, et c'est là qu'elle passa la majorité de sa vie. Son rêve est de pouvoir acheter une maison à la campagne et de cultiver un potager, loin de la ville. Elle a un fils du nom de Vincent qu'elle a eu très jeune et a faillit mourir en couche.

 Il s'agit d'un personnage sans scrupules, car celle-ci pense que la vie ne lui a pas fait de cadeaux et considère la moindre occasion comme bonne à prendre. Elle est particulièrement égoïste (sauf en ce qui concerne son fils, Vincent, qui est la seule personne au monde à laquelle elle tienne), avide, vénale et provocatrice. C'est également quelqu'un de rusé, débrouillard, qui ne recule devant rien et qui n'a peur de rien (à un point parfois dangereux), ce qui peut la rendre fascinante comme très destructrice.
 
Christina fera la rencontre de Sarah alors que cette dernière se trouve à Londres. Sarah la transformera afin qu'elle lui serve de couverture par rapport à ses "parties de chasse", au cas ou les autorités locales deviendraient trop curieuses. La jeune femme se déguise en mettant une perruque noire et en portant un manteau sombre, ce qui la rend assez semblable à Christina physiquement.

Au départ, leur relation est plutôt basée sur un rapport d'utilité, car elles se servent l'une de l'autre. Sarah pour les raisons ci-dessus, Christina parce qu'elle pense que Sarah pourrait lui servir de tremplin socialement et également de protectrice pour elle et son fils Vincent. Christina profite également des pouvoirs que lui offre sa transformation. Celle-ci sait qu'elle est instrumentalisée, mais elle peut en tirer profit, et étant donné qu'elle a vécu pour ainsi dire comme une esclave tout au long de sa vie, le fait que Sarah se sert d'elle ne la dérange pas, car elle y trouve son compte.

Mais leur relation va plus loin que ça. En effet, après sa transformation, Christina partage le même sang que Sarah et cela crée donc une sorte de lien "familial" que l'on pourrait rapprocher de celui mère/fille. Christina considère sa transformation comme une renaissance.
Après, ayant le même âge et se ressemblant physiquement, leur lien peut également rappeler celui entre deux soeurs.
Quoi qu'il en soit, les deux jeunes femmes s'attache l'une à l'autre malgré elles, et ce de façon puissante, car il leur arrive parfois de ressentir les émotions de l'autre, même malgré une longue distance.

Pour finir, Christina sera une alliée décisive de Sarah, et vice versa. Elle sera aussi à l'origine d'évènement important au cours de mon histoire.
